Abstract

A new simple technique for the preparation of NHC-substituted phosphapalladacycles is reported by using phosphapalladacycle acetate precursors and azolium tetrafluoroborate salts in DMSO. The one-pot synthesis avoids multi-step reactions employing free carbenes. With this technique, NHC-substituted phosphapalladacycles were thus obtained that are not accessible via the free carbene route.
