Abstract
Insertion of alkynes into the ruthenium-aminocarbyne bond generate diruthenium bridging vinyliminium complexes. The μ-vinyiliminium ligands undergo hydride addition (by NaBH4) at the iminium carbon (Cα), or at the adjacent Cβ, or can be deprotonated (by NaH) at the Cβ-H position.
