Abstract
Dichlorodimethyltin and dichlorodiphenyltin form monodimensional coordination polymers with the bridging ligand 2,5-bis(4-pyridyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (L1). The octahedral coordination geometry at the tin atom in the complexes SnCl2(CH3)2 · L1 and SnCl2(C6H5)2 · L1 · 0.3CH2Cl2 is very distorted, with a C-Sn-C bond angle of about 150°.
