Abstract
Twelve dinuclear metallocalix[4]arenes decorated with thiophene/furan units were synthesized using a ditopic N donor, bischelating ligand, and Re2(CO)10. The photophysical properties of the ligands were studied. X-ray and DFT-studies confirm a calix[4]arene-shaped structures for the complexes.
