Abstract
Structural and calculational studies on the nido-undecaborate anion, [B11H14]â, and some derivatives, suggest that the disposition of bridging- and endo-hydrogen atoms in the open face may be represented by the two structures shown herein. They differ by only 0.36 kJ/mol effectively rendering them indistinguishable.
