Abstract
The high-pressure IR and Raman spectra of Zeise's complexes, K[Pt(η2-C2H4)Cl3] and [Pt(η2-C2H4)Cl2]2, have been measured for the first time. The negative pressure dependences observed for some of the vibrational bands have proved useful in identifying the CC stretching modes of the Pt-ethylene groups, a contentious issue in the literature.
