Synthesis and cytotoxicity studies of methoxy benzyl substituted titanocenes

Four benzyl substituted titanocenes were synthesised through the hydridolithiation reaction of 6-aryl substituted fulvenes with LiBEt3H. Within the synthesis of the four titanocene derivatives are reported along with a structural discussion of either their X-ray diffraction or calculated structure. Each compound had MTT-based cytotoxicity tests on pig kidney epithelial (LLC-PK) cells completed.
