Abstract
The reaction of [CpâMo(NO)(CO)2] with S8 and DMAD gave the molybdenum dithiolene complexes [CpâMo(NO)(S2C2Z2)(C2Z2)] (1, ZÂ =Â COOMe), [CpâMo(NO)(S2C2Z2)]2 (2), [Cpâ2Mo2(NO)2S2(S2C2Z2)] (3) and [CpâMo(NO)S2]2 (4).The reduction of complexes 1 and 2 formed the monomeric complex [CpâMo(NO)(S2C2Z2)]â (Xâ).When the anion Xâ was oxidized, the oxidant reformed complex 2.
