Abstract
The one-pot reaction of K2PtCl4 and various 2-arylpyridines, HC∧N, in a 3:1 (v/v) mixture of 2-ethoxyethanol and H2O at 80 °C for 16 h affords cyclometalated platinum complexes, Pt(C∧N)(HC∧N)(Cl), in high yield. These have been fully characterized and, in one case, the X-ray structure has been determined.
