Abstract

Two new composite solids, [Ag(btx)]4H2V10O28·2H2O 1 and [Ag(biim)]2V4O112 (btx=1,4-bis(triazol-1-ylmethyl)benzene, biim=1,1′-(1,4-butanediyl)bis(imidazole)), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, TGA and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 contains two one-dimensional (1D) polymeric chains, {Ag2(btx)2}2+ and [Ag2(btx)2H2V10O28]2−, that are assembled by supramolecular forces into an intriguing two-dimensional (2D) poly(pseudo-rotaxane) network. Compound 2 comprises cationic {Ag2(biim)2}2+ three-dimensional (3D) framework penetrated by anionic [V4O11]n2n- chains. The electrochemical properties of the two compounds have been studied.
