Abstract
Single-crystalline BaF2:Eu3+ (5.0Â mol% Eu3+) caddice spheres has been successfully synthesized via a facile, quick and efficient ultrasonic solution route employing the reactions between Ba(NO3)2, Eu(NO3)3 and KBF4 under ambient conditions. This simple and unique synthetic method without any template or surfactant, which avoids the subsequent complicated workup procedures for the removal of the template or surfactant, has a potential advantage for synthesis of material with novel morphology.
