Abstract
Antimony silicate glasses have been shown to contain Sb3+ in [:SbO3] trigonal pyramid units using 121Sb Mössbauer spectroscopy and Raman spectroscopy. 29Si magic-angle-spinning NMR has shown silicon Qn speciation which can be interpreted as formation of rings of 4 [:SbO3] units such as are found in valentinite.
