Abstract
An unprecedented three-dimensional (3D) polymer [Cu2(quinoxaline)2Mo4O13]n, formed from ξ-octamolybdate chains as building units and pairs of 1D [Cu(quinoxaline)]nn+ polymeric chains as linkers, provides the first example of an extended higher dimensional structure based on [Mo8O26]n4n- octamolybdate chain. The basic building block of the octamolybdate chain included in the title compound is first reported to be constructed from ξ-isomer of octamolybdate unit.
