Abstract
The voltage source generating voltages using separate magnitude and phase angle control of different harmonics has been presented in this paper. In contrast to the common calibrators available on the market, whose basic architecture consists of digital-to-analog (D/A) boards and power amplifier which amplifies low-voltage signal from D/A boards, proposed device can generate high voltage directly at the inverter output. Special attention was given to the design of power filter connected at the inverter output and anti-aliasing filter that enables accurate discrete Fourier transform calculation. In this study space vector pulse width modulation technique is employed for generating IGBT control signals. Obtained experimental results confirm validity of the proposed approach for generation of non-sinusoidal voltage waveforms. Presented laboratory setup can be used as cost-effective alternative for testing different electrical measuring equipment, from voltage transducers, electrical energy meters and power quality analyzers to various electrical devices working under non-sinusoidal conditions.
