Abstract
⺠We studied cholinesterase (ChE) in freshwater oligochaete Lumbriculus variegatus. ⺠We used method of substrate-inhibitory analysis. ⺠Only single “atypical” ChE are presented in tissues of the worm. ⺠Worm's ChE differs from typical acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterases of mammals. ⺠ChE has high activity and absence of selectivity towards substrates and inhibitors.
