Abstract
► We studied cholinesterase (ChE) in freshwater oligochaete Lumbriculus variegatus. ► We used method of substrate-inhibitory analysis. ► Only single “atypical” ChE are presented in tissues of the worm. ► Worm's ChE differs from typical acetyl- and butyrylcholinesterases of mammals. ► ChE has high activity and absence of selectivity towards substrates and inhibitors.
