Abstract
•Antimicrobial loaded films were easily produced by solvent casting.•Antimicrobials showed a sustained release either alone or in combination.•Ciprofloxacin concentrations higher than IC50 of several bacteria were achieved.•Chitosan based films were active against P. aeruginosa in a disk diffusion assay.
