Abstract
Alternating copolymer of maleic anhydride (MA) with N-isopropylacrylamide (NIPA) has been synthesized. Spectral characterization of this copolymer has been achieved by FTIR, Raman, 1H, 13C NMR spectroscopic methods. Besides hydrodynamic behavior of the copolymer has been also investigated by viscometric method for comparison with that obtained from the solubility profile through algorithmic calculations. As a consequence of the algorithmic calculations DMSO has been determined as the best solvent for the copolymer, poly(MA-alt-NIPA), which is also supported by the viscometric results.
