Abstract
Two oleanane-type triterpene saponins, named albizosides D and E (1 and 2), together with a known compound, Julibroside J8 (3), were isolated from the stem bark of Albizia chinensis. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 were established by 1D, 2D NMR experiments, and chemical methods, and they showed moderate cytotoxic activity against a small panel of human tumor cell lines.
