A series of (2-aminothiazol-4-yl)methylester (5a–t) derivatives were synthesized in good yields and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, mass spectral and elemental analyses. The crystal structure of 5a was evidenced by X-ray diffraction study. The compounds were evaluated for their preliminary in vitro antibacterial, antifungal activity and were screened for antitubercular activity against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv strain. The synthesized compounds displayed interesting antimicrobial activity.
Graphical abstractA new series of some 2,4-disubstituted thiazole derivatives were synthesized through multistep reactions. All the new compounds were characterized by spectral and elemental analysis. The conformational and supramolecular features of 5a were evidenced by single crystal X-ray.Figure optionsDownload full-size imageDownload as PowerPoint slideHighlights► New series of 2,4-disubstituted thiazole derivatives were synthesized. ► X-ray crystallographic study of the title compound 5a was carried out. ► In vitro antimicrobial and antimycobacterial screening were carried out. ► 5b, 5e, 5h, 5j and 5t showed substantial antitubercular activity.
