Abstract
New polyesters were prepared from several aromatic phosphonic dichlorides and a diolic monomer bearing a cyclic bulky group containing phosphorus. From kinetic investigation, the rates of polycondensation in melt were calculated and compared with those of the reaction between aromatic diols and phosphonic dichloride. Polyesters were analytically, spectral and thermally characterized and effect of structure on optical properties was investigated.
