Abstract
A rapid and easy approach for synthesizing chemically reduced graphene oxide (CRGO) by using formamidinesulfinic acid (FAS) as a reducing agent is reported. The obtained CRGO nanosheets were characterized with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and electrical conductivity. The possible reduction mechanism was proposed. The stronger reduction capacity of FAS was attributed to the synergistic effect of its hydrolysis products (HSO3- and urea) in alkaline aqueous media.
