Abstract
Arrays of carbon nanotubes exhibit a polarization dependent radiative absorption at radiofrequencies and this enhanced longitudinal absorbance is attributed to electric field induced intra-band transitions within sp2 hybridized orbits. This is supported by ab initio calculations.
