Abstract
The piezoresistivity of carbon-black-filled silicone rubber composite with different carbon black content are studied. The experimental results show that carbon black concentration has great effects on the relation between uniaxial pressure and the electrical resistance of the composite. Based on the shell model and the theory of tunneling current, a mathematical model for piezoresistivity is developed. The experimental phenomena are explained by analyzing the changes in effective conductive paths composed of carbon black.
