Abstract
Three new calixarenes were synthesized with the purpose of having ligands able to complex Cu(I). Among them, a new calixarenic ditopic podand incorporating at the upper rim two dipyrrolyl groups and, at the lower rim, two bipyridine groups was prepared. The new macrocycles fixed in cone conformation formed complexes with Cu(I) but with different stoichiometries. Moreover, the crystal structure of an intermediate calixarene was determined by X-ray crystallography.
