Abstract
The structure of oriented polyvinyltrimethylsilane, subjected to uniaxial stretching above the glass transition temperature, and also the structure of an isotropic sample, annealed under the action the hydrostatic pressure are studied. In both cases a structural transition of the polymer material in the mesophase state is observed. The system is characterized by the presence of two-dimensional positional order in packing of the chain centres of gravity and the absence of such order in the direction of the macromolecule axes.
