Abstract
The effect of the conditions of modification of nuclear filters by N-vinylpyrrolidone on the morphology of polyethylene terephthalate (PETP), the grafting topochemistry (on the external surface or inside the pores of the filter), the porosity and hydration of the filters, their hydrodynamic and diffusional permeability in relation to protein solutions is studied. Grafting takes place not only along the filtering surface but also over the internal surfaces of the pores. The optimum conditions of filter modification for which an increase in the hydrophilic character of their surfaces is observed with significant retention of porosity and filtering power in relation to protein solutions are indicated.
