Abstract
A new diacetylene monomer 1-(9-carbozolyl)-6-iodohexa-2,4-diyne has been synthesized and its polymerization in the solid state studied. It was established that the polymer possesses an ene-yne structure. During polymerization iodine splits off leading to internal doping of the polyconjugated system with the formation of radical and ionic states. The photoconducting properties of poly-1-(9-carbazolyl)-6-iodohexa-2,4-dyne have been studied and the mechanisms of photogeneration linked with the chemical structure of the polymer.
