Abstract
The relation between the electron-donor properties of non-aqueous solvents and the character of their interaction with cellulose is analysed. For effective interaction the solvents must possess a favourable complex of polar, basic and steric properties. It is desirable to continue the search for new dissolving systems with reference to the mechanism of electron donor-acceptor interaction.
