Abstract
Anticipating increasing environmental pressure on cobalt, AkzoNobel has developed a range of cobalt-free accelerators for the unsaturated polyester resin market under the brand name Nouryact™. The company has now developed two accelerators which are primarily based on iron to expand its cobalt-free product portfolio. These new eco-premium products are highly reactive in a broad range of resins and can be used under many different conditions. Roel Zuijderduin, Technical Sales Manager, AkzoNobel Functional Chemicals, explains about the benefits and the curing characteristics of these new iron-based accelerators.
