Abstract
X-ray line-broadening techniques that were previously developed and applied to quantify deformation behavior during the hot rolling of commercial-purity titanium were applied to Ti–6Al–4V plate with a colony-alpha preform microstructure. The work quantified the challenges in using line-broadening techniques for two-phase titanium alloys which undergo a phase transformation during cooling following hot working.
