Abstract
Vanadium oxide nanotubes (VOx-NTs) and nanourchin (4-phenylbutylamine/vanadium oxide) have been synthesized via one-step hydrothermal treatment. Compounds were analyzed through X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscope, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). CV curves illustrate reversible redox behavior with charge-discharge cycling corresponding to the reversible lithium intercalation/deintercalation. The EIS spectra were carried out in order to investigate the Li+ insertion mechanism at the electrode/electrolyte interface and evaluate the diffusion of Li+ within the bulk of cathode material.
