Abstract
The Ni0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 precursor with uniform particle size for LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode material synthesis is firstly prepared by an atomization co-precipitation (AC) method. XRD Rietveld refinement results demonstrate that LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode material synthesized by AC method possesses good layered structure with low Li/Ni mixing degree. The obtained LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 material exhibits excellent rate and cycling performance. It retains 82.42% of its initial capacity (0.1 C) at a high rate (5 C). The capacity retention of LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 can be as high as 88.5% after 100 cycles even at 2 C rates.
