Abstract

The new perovskite oxide with formula LaBaFe0.5Zn0.5MnO6−δ has been investigated by X-ray powder diffraction and electrical impedances spectroscopy. The X-ray pattern refinement based on the Le Bail model is consistent with the formation of single phase type cubic structure. The complex impedance has been measured in the temperature and frequency ranges 278–573 K and 100 Hz–7 MHz, respectively. The Z′ and Z″ versus frequency plots were fitted to an equivalent circuit consisting of series of combinations of resistor, capacity and constant phase elements. The frequency dependence of the AC conductivity has been interpreted in terms of Joncher׳s law. The near values of activation energies obtained from the analysis of M″, conductivity data and equivalent circuit confirm that the transport results from ion hopping mechanism dominated by the motion of Zn, Fe and Mn ionic species in the structure of the investigated material.
