Abstract
Novel low-firing microwave dielectric ceramics BaMV2O7 (M=Mg, Zn) were prepared by the conventional solid-state ceramic route. A pure orthorhombic phase can be formed at 700 °C for both BaMgV2O7 and BaZnV2O7 powders. Two promising ceramics BaMgV2O7 and BaZnV2O7 sintered at densification temperatures (830 °C and 720 °C, respectively) were found to possess good microwave dielectric properties: εr=8.2 and 10.7, Q×f=37600 GHz (at 11.7 GHz) and 31000 GHz, and τf=−35.2 ppm/°C and −64.4 ppm/ °C, respectively.
