Abstract
The consolidation of highly porous nanostructured wollastonite powders was conducted via Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) technique, and porous composite materials of high mechanical strength were obtained (Young׳s modulus over 60 MPa). Peculiarities of structural parameters variation of studied materials under SPS conditions within the temperature interval 800–1000 °С are described. The procedure of porous structure control of CaSiO3 composites, allows obtaining of hierarchically porous silica framework from nano- to microsized pores through a poreforming agent (carbonaceous template), is suggested. Obtained silicate composites are classified as bioactive ceramic materials, which are prospective for application in medical practice.
