Abstract
The phase transitions in (1−x)BaZr0.2Ti0.8O3−xBa0.7Ca0.3TiO3 (BZT-xBCT) powders and ceramic pellets were studied. It is found that the phase compositions in the pellets are different from that in the powders, which may be caused by the stress in the pellets. The monoclinic phase exists near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) in the ceramics. The piezoelectric coefficient (d33) measurement of the ceramics shows that the higher piezoelectric properties are corresponding to higher content of monoclinic phase.
