Abstract
Phase developmental stages in ZnO + Bâ³2O5 (Bâ³Â = Nb,Ta) on heat treatments were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). Desired phases of the B-site precursor compositions formed directly from the reactants for Bâ³Â = Nb, whereas the formation was indirect when Bâ³Â = Ta. Similar studies were attempted for PbO + 13ZnBâ³2O6, where only pyrochlore phases were developed, instead of desired perovskite. The overall results are discussed in comparison with other cases of (Bâ²,Bâ³)O2 and Pb(Bâ²,Bâ³)O3.
