Abstract
Phase developmental stages in ZnO + B″2O5 (B″ = Nb,Ta) on heat treatments were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD). Desired phases of the B-site precursor compositions formed directly from the reactants for B″ = Nb, whereas the formation was indirect when B″ = Ta. Similar studies were attempted for PbO + 13ZnB″2O6, where only pyrochlore phases were developed, instead of desired perovskite. The overall results are discussed in comparison with other cases of (B′,B″)O2 and Pb(B′,B″)O3.
