Abstract
BaMoO4 whiskers were successfully prepared by an electrochemical method. The as-prepared samples were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectra techniques, respectively. The results showed that the samples obtained under different electric current values have little difference in crystallinity and morphology, which results in similar photoluminescence. However, when ethanol was introduced into the electrolytic solution, the aspect ratio of BaMoO4 crystallites remarkably increased and their particle size decreased, exhibiting enhanced PL intensity.
