Abstract
Densified multiwalled carbon nanotube (MWNT)–TiN composites with various MWNTs contents were successfully obtained through a spark plasma sintering (SPS) method. The thermal conductivity k was found to increase with the MWNT amount and temperature. In the presence of 5 wt% MWNTs, there was a 97% enhancement in k at 703 K compared with that of TiN. The high thermal conductivity of MWNTs, a good interfacial combination and a homogeneous dispersion of MWNTs are key issues to enhance the thermal conductivity of MWNT–TiN composites.
