Abstract
This paper reports the tensile behavior of a novel textile structural composite, named as co-woven-knitted fabric (CWKF) composite, under quasi-static and high strain rate tension. The CWKF fabric has the woven structure stability and the knitted structure flexibility. The tensile behaviors of the CWKF composite under the quasi-static and high strain rate tension were compared and analyzed in the frequency domain using the fast Fourier transform (FFT) method. The results show that the tension behavior, amplitude spectrum and phase spectrum of the CWKF composite are strain rate sensitive. The CWKF composite can absorb higher energy in a specific frequency range.
