Abstract
A new microwave dielectric ceramic Cu0.5Ti0.5NbO4 was synthesized by the solid-state route and the microwave dielectric properties were investigated. The synthesized specimens had dense ceramics with single tetragonal rutile structure sintered in the temperature range of 940–1000 °C for 2–8 h. The microwave dielectric properties were strongly dependent on the densification of specimens and sintering condition. Ceramic samples with relative densities above 97% were obtained when sintering temperature was around 960 °C. The ceramic sintered at 960 °C for 6 h exhibits the best dielectric properties with a high dielectric constant of 71.2, a quality factor of 11,000 GHz and a temperature coefficient of resonance frequency of 49.2 ppm/°C.
