Abstract

Aurivillius-type bismuth layer-structured ferroelectrics are high Curie temperature ferroelectrics material and a promising candidate for high-temperature piezoelectric applications. However, the extremely low piezoelectric properties of Aurivillius-type bismuth layer-structured ferroelectrics hinder their application. The current study focuses on the CaBi4Ti4O15 lead-free piezoelectric ceramics with high piezoelectric properties and thermal stability. In order to improve the piezoelectric properties of CaBi4Ti4O15 lead-free ceramics, the combining method of Li–Ce co-doped and textured was applied in this study. Highly textured Ca0.85(Li,Ce)0.15Bi4Ti4O15 ceramics with single phase and 86.5% Lotgering factor were obtained by templated grain growth method. The textured ceramic has a higher piezoelectric constant (d33 = 27 pC/N) compared with conventional solid-state sintering CaBi4Ti4O15ceramics (d33 = 5 pC/N). Furthermore, it has excellent resistance to depolarization property and it keep about 5.5% kp until the temperature up to 500 °C.
