Abstract
The structural behavior of the monoclinic compound Bi2SrO4 is investigated at high pressures by using Raman scattering and X-ray diffraction (XRD) methods. The results indicate that a pressure-induced phase transition occurred at 10Â GPa and completed at 20Â GPa. The high-pressure phase is in orthorhombic symmetry. Upon release of pressure to ambient conditions, the monoclinic phase is recovered.
