Abstract
⺠The pyramidic molecules spread spontaneously at the air-water interface. ⺠The molecules pack to form stable columns of about 10 molecules length with strong short smectic order. ⺠The built-up nanorod-like structure remains stable upon several expansion-compression cycles.
