Abstract
► Phosphate glasses are studied for highly nonlinear tellurite-based optical fibers. ► Their optical and thermal properties are modified to match with those of tellurite. ► The mixed-alkali phosphate glasses are proposed as promising cladding materials. ► By using step-index optical fibers, the tailored chromatic dispersion is obtained.
