Abstract
The organic-inorganic hybrid NiO-chlorophyll-a (NiO-Chl-a) as an optical material was synthesized with nickel acetate and saponificated chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) by sol-gel method. It was characterized by FTIR, XRD, TGA and DTA. Its optical properties were examined with UV-Vis reflectance and illumination with a visible light. It was found that NiO-Chl-a emitted a monochromatic fluorescence at 658Â nm wavelength with 10Â nm width. It shows a high stability against visible light as well.
