Abstract

The refractive index of cubic K0.95Li0.05Ta0.61Nb0.39O3 was measured at 25 °C by the minimum deviation method. The parameters of Sellmeier’s dispersion equation were determined. The dielectric and Kerr properties of K0.95Li0.05Ta0.61Nb0.39O3 were investigated at different temperatures. K0.95Li0.05Ta0.61Nb0.39O3 has large Kerr effect with R11 = 4.9 × 10−16 m2/V2 and R12 = −0.8 × 10−16 m2/V2 near its phase-transition temperature.
