Abstract
Thin films of Cd1−xMnxS (x = 0, 0.02, 0.04 and 0.06) were deposited on glass substrates by thermal evaporation at room temperature (300 K). All the films exhibited wurtzite structure of the host material with crystallite size varied from 34 to 43 nm. The bandgap decreased from 2.43 to 2.31 eV with increasing Mn concentration. The excitation wavelength of all films is about 525 nm and emission wavelength varied from 567 to 572 nm for all films.
