Abstract
The PbWO4 nano- and macroparticles with uniform size and shape have been synthesized via a wet chemical process in the presence of surfactant. The products were characterized by the techniques of X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Experiment results indicated that the surfactant poly(vinylpyrrolidone K30) (PVP) played a key role in the formation of the rhombic-shaped PbWO4 macroparticles. A growth mechanism contributed to the formation of the well-fined PbWO4 macroparticles was proposed. The luminescence properties of PbWO4 nano- and macrostructure were investigated.
