Abstract
A transparent Yb3+:Sr3La2(BO3)4 crystal with dimension Ï20 Ã 25 mm3 was grown by Czchoralski method. Yb3+:Sr3La2(BO3)4 crystal congruently melts at 1337.5 °C. The segregation coefficient of Yb3+ in Yb3+:Sr3La2(BO3)4 crystal is 0.65. The absorption cross-section and emission cross section of Yb3+:Sr3La2(BO3)4 crystal are 1.828 Ã 10â20 cm2 at 978 nm and 3.07 Ã 10â21 cm2, respectively. The fluorescence lifetime is 1.128 ms at room temperature.
